Miked08
This must be an easy question: how can I slope the cube edges in vectorworks? Ive attached a cinema 4d shot of what I mean. Thankyou! Also, are there any good basic modelling tutorials on the web? I neeed them. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
There is a lot of useful information on advanced 3D modeling in the 3D Power Pack area: http://www.nemetschek.net/3dpowerpack/qtexamples.php You can slice off part of an object using the Split tool. That is probably the quickest and easiest way to modify your extruded cubes. You can also convert them to a mesh (Modify menu). If you then marquee select the two vertices you want to lower you can use Move 3D to change their height. Edited April 14, 2009 by mike m oz Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
I see several options: If the slopes are 45 degrees you can use the 3D Chamfer Edge tool (unfortunately VW only achieves equal length chamfers in both directions) Otherwise i would suggest the Model>Add/Subtract Solids command (ie create another solid(s), rotate them and subtract from your original solid. Another option would be using the wall tool, walls are quite editable in 2009 (ie create a wall with the thickness and height of the volume, double click the wall and you can drag the different handles in several directions.) Chad McNeely
Instead of extruding a rectangle upwards, how about extruding a trapezoid sideways? Quote Link to comment
