VincentCuclair
This is perhaps a very obvious one but then at least someone can answer it... When changing a wall thickness in the OIP is there a way to let the change happen relative to one of the outsides? At the moment it happens relative to the centerline?! Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
There is a way to do this but only if you use STYLED walls. Then, you can use the "REPLACE" button to switch one style with another AND you can choose whether the new wall will align left, right or center... Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
if you are using Vectorworks architect you should use styled walls. try not to use unstyled walls. Styled walls offer several advantages and will make you more productive. Storing styled walls in your template file, or in a library will make it quick to choose a wall style when you are drawing your building. If you have my Architect Tutorial manual, you learn early on how to make your own styled walls. 1 Quote Link to comment
sarnoldesign
Hello. I have a wall object that I need to add depth to only part of it, where the wall juts out to enclose a column, and then return to it's original depth. Can anyone help with that? Quote Link to comment
E|FA
@sarnoldesign You can try the "pilaster" or "create wall projection" tools: https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2020/eng/index.htm#t=VW2020_Guide%2FWalls_edit%2FCreating_columns_and_pilasters.htm https://app-help.vectorworks.net/2020/eng/index.htm#t=VW2020_Guide%2FWalls%2FCreating_wall_projections.htm I haven't used either of them much, but they might do what you need to do. I've found the wall projection tool difficult to edit, so have just deleted & rebuilt if I needed to make changes. Quote Link to comment
