bclighting
I've searched for this topic. Is there a way to not start in a blank drawing when clicking the shortcut? Quote Link to comment
ionw
Depends which version you use. If you use 2008 and earlier, no. In version 2009 you can set that option in the Preferences. See Image below: Quote Link to comment

cad@sggsa
Good day All I never open VW through a VW icon... I have a saved drawing set up for starting a new job with only the etentials in, but set up my way. It is not a Template, but a working drawing and "Save as" the new job name and location. Works for me... Quote Link to comment
bclighting
Now that I have finally upgraded to 2012 I am going to resurrect this post. It turns out that option has been removed. So now I have to ask the question again, how can I not open a blank drawing in 2012? Quote Link to comment
bclighting
Nevermind, I retract that. I'm an idiot and wasn't looking at the right tab. Quote Link to comment
Miguel Barrera
BTW and for the benefit of others who have not upgraded, in 2008 you could have set up your start up document the way you want with all layers, classes, etc already included and then save it as the default template "default.sta". This is the document that is opened when you double click the VW icon. Quote Link to comment
