customizable View bar

It would be really great to be able to truly customize the View bar, i.e. not only dictate which elements are included in the bar but also their placement. For instance, I much preferred having my Class and Layer menus on the right side of the bar (as in v12), and would like to add dividers and organize buttons and menus my own way. Take a cue from Mac OS, or for that matter, Microsoft (~shudder~) - Word, Excel, etc. have been doing it for years.

I'd prefer to not be able to. I've seen some real 'disasters' with customised workspaces - often where people are trying to set up VW like other programs, and occasionally from misguided logic.

Also trying to resolve problems or show people how to do something becomes an absolute frustration with customised workspaces because things are either not where they should be or sometimes not there at all.

The GUI should be fully customizable and it should be easy for the end user to do so.

In my opinion, nannyism shouldn't be the driver.

I can't see any conceptual difference in workspace customisation and other customisation, such as view bar. The purpose of the UI is not what a trainer or a consultant finds easier but what the user likes and needs.
