michaelk
I used Create Similar Object on a lighting instrument to create a duplicate instrument on another lighting position. Now I can't stop it. Every new instrument I try to insert with the insertion tool is the same kind of instrument with the same channel, color, etc. How do I turn this crazy thing off? michaelk Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
This is exactly what Create Similar Object is supposed to do. It checks the current object, sets all of the tool defaults to match and then calls the proper tool. For most tools, you would be able to go into the tool preferences and change them to whatever you want. The Lighting Instrument tool, does not seem to have any preferences. It might be possible to write a script to overwrite the Instrument tool defaults. If you have not found a solution, I will try to take a look in the next few days. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Pat Don't bother looking. Kevin sent me a script that resets the default values of the Lighting Devices. I don't think Lighting Devices are good candidates for the Create Similar Object command. michaelk Quote Link to comment
