chadoli1
I am still missing the good old editable worksheet from VW12. Please help. VW2009 will not allow me to copy a group of cells from an excel file and paste them into a worksheet. It wants to put all of the cells into one cell rather than distributing them. michaelk
I used to feel the same way. But once you try the new worksheets you won't want to go back. You CAN import excel worksheets. There was a thread about it recently: http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=9&Number=115241&Searchpage=1&Main=24419&Words=excel&topic=0&Search=true#Post115241 hth michaelk Quote Link to comment
michaelk
I should say that even though it's possible, I don't do it very often. I often find it faster and easier to format everything in Excel, convert it to PDF, and reference the pdf. It's faster and easier to format Excel files than VW worksheets. Especially if you want multiple pages with header rows. If you need to make changes, you can change the original excel file, reconvert to PDF (using the same file name) and update the references in the VW file. But if you are trying to get hook up info for an entire show into the Channel Hook Up database ~gulp~ That might be a Lightwright thing. michaelk Quote Link to comment
chadoli1
Michael, Thanks for the Help- I figured out that I CAN Copy and Paste from Excel as long as I am not copying into SUB-ROWS (wish I could copy into sub-rows) BUT if I import the excel data into the worksheet I can copy into Subrows for whatever reason. either way issue solved for now (although this does seem to add more work for me) Thanks to Michel K Quote Link to comment
