GWS
I have 3 lofted surfaces that I have add together into 1 object. Does anyone know if it's possible to make this a full solid item? I have chopped off the end with a subtraction to show that it is hollow. Please see attached. (When I take it into 'Inventor' or 'Solidworks' it becomes solid) Guy Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Why do you need it to be solid? Quote Link to comment
GWS
I'd like to put a recess on the back surface and then 3D print it. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
The easiest way would be to go back and redo the Loft and check the Create Solids check box in the Loft dialog box. The other possibility is to make sure you have a closed object using the Trim and Stitch Surfaced command. This should convert your NURBs surfaces into a Generic Solid that will show as solid when you do other solids operations. Quote Link to comment
GWS
I did check the 'create solids' check box but to no avail and the 'Trim and Stitch Surfaced command' failed. I also tried creating a nurbs curve and using the protrusion tool in add mode unfortunately that didn't work. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Can you send me a file with just the objects in it (and the original curves you used to do the loft if appropriate) and I will take a look. Send it to the address in my signature. Quote Link to comment
