ewalker
Is there a way to dimension an object and make it associative without having to click the end points of the object? Can the object itself be selected and then the dimensions automatically generated? The problem I have is that when I zoom in to accurately select the correct points to dimension (using the constrained chain mode) they end up not being associative. However, when I dimension with the entire object being visible they are visible only sometimes. Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment
gmm18
Have you tried the "Selected Objects" mode? Hit "N" on your keyboard to enter Dimension Tool. Then click the object, drag out and click to finish. This only works in constrained horizontal or vertical dimensions. If the object is angled, for example a line at 45?, you could still use this tool, but first you would have to set "Rotate Plan" to 45?. Quote Link to comment
ewalker
Thanks alot. That works. However, how can I get the "selected objects mode" to include dimensions for objects in the wall, namely doors or windows? I cannot seem to get it to work as chain dimensions. Can this be done?
