v'works 12.5 keeps freezing up

I keep getting a freeze up on my 12.5 (on XP). It seems to be a new problem inherent in this project. I have tried creating a new drawing but to no avail. I do have a wing of this house on a funky angle and it seems to happen after I put in a symbol or plug in on that angle.

any help is appreciated. I could reinstall if necessary.

I have a Nvidia driver and could update via their website.

Thank you..I called Dell and got them to walk me through the update...my fingers are crossed as I walk in the valley of deadline hell

Mind you I'm not convinced this is even what's causing your issues (In fact, I remember 12.5 being buggy when it came to symbols) if the Dell rep told you to just check for updates via Windows/your hard drive, you may want to dig a little deeper. I know that I routinely would check for updates on my system and it would state I was up to date on everything, but on somebody's recommendation I went to the Nvidia site (which checks your system for you) and I discovered I was 3 versions behind on my drivers.

Noooooo. Don't use Microsoft's or Dell's update for Nvidia graphic card drivers. As C W says, use the ones from Nvidia themselves. I know from bitter experience that both the Windows Update and Dells versions are way way way out of date - September 2007 IIRC.

Dell took me to the NVIDIA site so I hope they directed me well.

I use Windows XP with NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M

I suppose this video driver is crap as this laptop is 2 years old.
