ArtemisNZ
I am trying to update VectorWorks 2009 with the SP1 update. When I run the downloaded update it gets to "Starting Installation..." and is unable to get through our firewall. Why does the downloaded update need to go out on the internet? Is there more to the update than what is downloaded? and is there a way to bypass the internet check or do I have to open ports etc on our LAN everytime this thing gets patched? I would also prefer not to run the Help > Check for updates option. Cheers Quote Link to comment

monkey
it is because VW peeps want to check you are running a legitimate copy of VW, and by connecting over the tinterweb they can do this. It is very annoying, but it means that people who have hooky copies cannot upgrade to new service packs. thats what i think anyway Quote Link to comment
