Ginormous files

Hi all

I've got a question about massively huge files in VW 2008. I've got a drawing that is ginormous, and only has a few (120) objects.

The objects are extrudes that i've sliced to form the angle.

I'd like to get the same type of thing in a 5mb or close to that file size, rather than a 22mb file.

I tried to post it, but internet explorer said no.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried Tools/Purge Unused Objects - depends on if you have any unused objects to purge - have a look in Help

If you do not need the object creation history, select the extrudes you have sliced and run convert to generic solids.

doing both of those things only took it from a 26mb file to a 19 mb file. Granted, that's 7 mb, but still not in the sendable to AOL email range(which is my goal. i think it's 10 mb limit).

any more hints?

Have you tried compressing (Zip) the file?

if you are regularly sending large files (or exchanging many files) it would make sense to set up an ftp site. bandwidth and storage is very cheap these days.

Great suggestion, I would have a hard time without mine.
