Printing to a bureau

I no longer have an A1 printer, but I want to draw in A1 and send PDF's to a bureau for printing.

However, I can't get VW to accept an A1 page size - it keeps breaking it up into A3 page sizes, presumably because that's the largest page size my present printer will do.

Does anyone know how to get VW to use a page size outside those of a plugged in printer?

Create a custom page size, or use an A3 page at 50%. With the latter you can print out check proofs at A3 and all the bureau needs to do is set the page size to A1 and it will print at A1.

I had problems with fonts (Tekton Pro and Helvetica) when Exporting to PDF, in that some letter spacings showed incorrectly. In the word floor for instance, the l gets shifted so that it touches the o and looks like a b. In the word fixed, the i is shifted to touch the x. Very strange and seemingly random.

I couldn't get the PDF option under Print to work either - it would only save as a tiled page of A3's, not just one A1. Very frustrating.

So I am going to try Mike's suggestion of A3 at 50%. So far so good, I'll try a sample email to my bureau and see what happens.
