Large paper PDF in MacOS 10.5

Ken

Question

What's the best way of saving a large-paper-size, high-resolution PDF in Vectorworks 2008/ MacOS 10.5.5 Leopard?

Before upgrading to Leopard, I was using a HP DesignJet 3500 driver. Just the driver. Never had the actual printer. I saved as postscript, then resaved in Preview as PDF. It was the best workaround ever. The round dot linework was spectacular. Shades had infinite variation. Fonts were perfectly intact. File size was small. Processing was smooth and quick.

But now it's all gone. Leopard does not support Classic printer drivers. HP is not offering the same driver for Leopard. I cannot find anything else compatible with both.

Is there now a better overall solution (in the latest MacOS) or should I cough it up again so soon for VW 2009? And does 2009 guarantee it by its nature or will it be just the same because printing is printing is printing?

HA! Yeah, reason being I didn't know about it!

Last time I tried that feature, for whatever version VW or MacOS, it didn't respect the custom paper size. Now it does.

Now only wish I can insert my company name as author in the PDF info. Oh well. That's the least of it.

Thank you.
