jfmarch
Is it possible to set a stair object to read in 2D only? There used to be a chack box for this. I am having trouble with multiple stairs on the same layer working properly with the upper/lower flow levels. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Diamond
I am having the same trouble with the stairs on the upper layer. Really frustrating! I update one stair on the bottom layer, and the other stair on the upper layer disappears! Has anyone figured a solution to this? Also when I delete one dual layer linked stair, the other layer linked stairs on the same layer are deleted. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Not sure what the "official" recommendation is but... I long ago discovered that I have fewer (like maybe none) of these types of problems when I set the overall floor height manually, as opposed to "by layer". Tip 2: I always make an exact duplicate of the floor for each layer is is visible, then I move the duplicate by the floor to floor "z" value so that they are aligned in 3d space. Then I use the "show stair break option to show the stairs going UP from below, or DOWN from above. HTH's Quote Link to comment
Diamond
Solution Found. After searching through the forums, I found this. I hope this helps. http://www.vectorwiki.org/index.php?title=Fixing_Stairs_with_Upper/Lower_Component_Problems Thank you Charles. Job well Done. Quote Link to comment
Diamond
Thank you Peter for getting back so soon. Yes setting the floor height manually, I have found the same, but it the ever increasing push towards intelligent objects and sophisticated modeling, I have chosen not to go back! My poor VW app gets pushed to the limit everyday! Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Ah well, sure. If you're a programmer (like Charles!) you can do that sort of thing. Cool, glad you found a solution. And thanks Charles ;-) Quote Link to comment
