grant_PD
Could have sworn that *wood floor made a running floorboard pattern. Now it seems to not be the case. Is this so? Is there no running floorboard shader in RW? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted November 5, 2008 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 5, 2008 Hello Grant: Did you try the pine floor color shader? That has a floorboard pattern. Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
yes...but the pattern only has an offset. Not a running pattern. How do I get the wood boards to do that? Quote Link to comment

grant_PD
Well yes, Ray, that's one solution. Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
I would like to say though, that I DO like the wood floor shader in RW. I like how one can tweek all the nuances. And while I'm happy to use the textures from elsewhere, it seems a shame that there is no running floorboard pattern. Which, to my experience, is common. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted November 6, 2008 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 6, 2008 Can you help me out Grant and show me what running pattern looks like? Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
Take a look at renderworks wood textures library, at "wood flooring beech 4 small." The boards are staggered so that the seams do not line up. One can set the offset of boards in the wood floor shader, but the offset is only for one board. Then the pattern starts back at the same place. If I increase the number of boards in the shader, it merely groups the boards together into blocks. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted November 10, 2008 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 10, 2008 You're right Grant, the offset can only give you something like a brick bond pattern. I will forward this as a wish to LightWorks. Quote Link to comment
