Kiwi Ross
I have made a simple drawing - made a pdf of it, then imported it into a new blank document to try the snapping function. Did not work. Did not see any encyption of the original pdf I created. I was hoping this tool would be simple enough to use as it would allow a lot time saving. Any one shed some light on this please. Ray Libby
How did you create the PDF? Please create a signature with your version of Vectorworks and computer specs including OS version to make it possible to help. Quote Link to comment

Dieter @ DWorks
If you print to pdf, the pdf will be just and image. You'll need to export to pdf to have it object based, only then you can snap to the different elements. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
DWorks is correct, There is no vector data in your PDF so no snapping. Quote Link to comment
JeffPPI
hi all is there a way to snap to imported pdf's that weren't created using VW? Thanks! Jeff Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
You can snap to any PDF with vector data. Quote Link to comment
Kiwi Ross
Yes you are right re something should be exported to pdf rather than printed to pdf. As far as using other documents / pdf's, I hope some of those are useable for importing and snapping to. Thanks guys for your imput. Ross Quote Link to comment
