Working w/the roof face tool

Recommended Posts

If they are at the same pitch, it's easy: simply draw the 45? line of their intersection, then use a polygon (or the reshape tool) to clip off/add on the needed areas.

BTW: you can use the "add surface" and "clip surface" commands to add/clip a roof face, right in top/plan view.

If they are at different pitches it is a tougher problem. Either "do the math" or use trial and error to find the line of intersection. HTH's

Render your roof in OpenGL and trace the resulting intersection. Copy the marker and Paste In Place once in an editing view of the particular roof face.

If you have trouble getting a line to stick atop the Open GL rendering, turn off Stack Layers or, if it's already off, the 3D Select tool may be on, rather than the preferred 2D Select tool.
