Bill at GFC
Ever since I started adding Lighting Fixtures to my Venue, Open Gl render mode now crashes. Does antbody have any Ideas? Thanks Bill Quote Link to comment
MattG
This is something I have found as a general annoyance. I may not be entirely correct on this, but as far as I can tell open GL doesn't like lots of lights. The more light sources the slower it goes and often crases. Which makes it in my mind a bad combo if you ever try to do renderings with spotlight. Quote Link to comment
Bill at GFC
What's strange is that even if I turn the lights off, or make the class the lights reside in "invisible", it still crashes. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
I'm not sure about Macs, but a common cause of OpenGL crashes in Windows is out of date video drivers. Quote Link to comment
M.CH
What version of Vw 2008 are you running? Quote Link to comment
M.CH
Can you post the file? What happens if you copy the element that causes the problem and paste it into a new file? Does it still crash? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted October 9, 2008 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 9, 2008 I've seen OpenGL craches caused by problems with just a piece of geometry. Other then contacting and sending the file to technical support, your best solution is to try eliminating things from the drawing and see what prevents it from crashing when you render.
