No Repeats
I'm a Microstation user transitioning to VW 2008. I've worked thru the workgroup referencing section of the Fundamentals manual pages 111-118 and I'm still unable to view my reference which is in the same folder as the target file. Is a saved view required? Lost in Translation Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Scott, Are you using Fundamentals, Architect or Designer? Quote Link to comment

Jeffrey W Ouellette
Scott, Look in the Design Series Vectorworks online help manual for "Creating a Referenced Design Layer Viewport". Starting with version 2008, VW now has a referencing scheme that is more reflective of how AutoCAD XREFs work. Quote Link to comment
Yancka
Another question. When I create Workgroup Reference in a project file (the file to which all model files are referenced, SLs with appropriate Viewports, Drawing Borders, worksheets, etc. created), the objects in referenced DL happen to appear far from page boundary. Referencing different files makes them appear in different directions and distances from shown age boundary. This is confusing. Any idea why is this happening? Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Could be an origin issue? Check to see where the X,Y origins are in each of the source files and the main project file. By default, the workgroup reference "inserts" so that 0,0 from each file aligns. Quote Link to comment
Yancka
Yes, it was origin issue. Thanks for your input Jeffrey! Quote Link to comment
