Jim_Allen
Anyone have an image prop of a baby grand, and grand piano I can steal??? I haven't been able to fine one in the VW library :-) Thanks Jim Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
I don't have an image prop, but here is a 3D model. http://raylibby.net/vwdump/grand_piano_v10.zip Quote Link to comment
Tobias
Funny, I just gaffed one off of sketchup's 3d warehouse yesterday, then imported into vw. (File > Import >Import Sketch Up) worked well, just needed to add textures. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ Let me know if that doesn't help and I could upload "mine" -Tobias Quote Link to comment
Jim_Allen
I did the download and imported as you said, and I got a menu asking for wall thickness, floor thickness, and roof thickness. I set all at 10" and nothing showed up??. Would you be willing to email it to me? One of my kids needs one for her set design. jtallen24@cablespeed.com thanks jim Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Jim, You can actually also: go to Google SU Warehouse; find the object; open it in SU (which is free, but you have to download it); then EXPORT to 3ds; then IMPORT the 3ds into VW's. It's really quick and easy... Quote Link to comment
atari2600
Yeah, I'd love to have a button in my VW symbol library which took me to an online Vectorworks Warehouse where we could upload/download symbols & plug-ins right into our files. (Google is so smart...) Quote Link to comment
JP Architect/Build
I agree w/ the VW Warehouse idea. It just seems like that would be a done deal by now. Perhaps, I need to investigate 3rd party symbol libraries. Quote Link to comment
Tobias
Jim, try leaving those field as is (0"), and "none" for the next geometry mapping. Or go the 3ds route. 3Ds might bring in the textures. I'm going to try that right now. Anyway, here is the one I got. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Yes, 3ds DOES bring the textures with it... Quote Link to comment
Jim_Allen
Thanks it worked and she is happy - gotta keep those kids happy!!! Quote Link to comment
Itchy
In the free version of sketch up it does not export to 3ds? or is there something im missing? Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
You're only missing the pro version. The free version doesn't support it. Quote Link to comment
