Frank O'Kobrick
I would like to update to VW 2009 w/ RW, but I use a MacBook Pro that only allows for a max of 2GB of RAM. Does it really require 4GB for RW? The 2008 version seems to work fine w/ 2GB. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
VW 2009 w/renderworks ran fine with 2GB of ram for me. I recently upgraded to 3GB. From what I understand NNA is not giving minimum specs, but recommended specs. Quote Link to comment
Frank O'Kobrick
Glad to here that, thanks for the response. Forgot to mention I have VW "Architect" (don't know if that makes a difference). Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Sometimes it's nice to have a good excuse for a new computer... Quote Link to comment
JP Architect/Build
Ray- Did upgrading 1 GB of RAM help very much? I might upgrade from 3 to 4GB. I'm really just waiting for the newer Quad Core Pro Mac's to be introduced. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
It has helped on occasion when I was running out of memory because of multiple applications open. I'm not sure if it helped rendering or not. More ram doesn't necessarily make your computer faster, it keeps it from slowing down when you max out ram usage. It's so cheap now there really isn't any reason not to add more. Quote Link to comment
Jim_Allen
I have been able to render with 1GIg of Ram with 2009, But I am only using Fast RenderWorks and Final Quality Renderworks. haven't tried the others yet Quote Link to comment
