Light Beams and intelligent lighting

I just upgraded from 11 to 2008.

I was hoping the 08 had a feature where you can render a light beam. I see where you can click on Draw beam and in wireframe it shows it. But when I render it's not on or there.

What am I doing wrong.

And intelligent lighting, is there a way to get gobos and colors etc...

Access the built-in light object in VectorWorks' Lighting Device objects by right-clicking or control-clicking with a single button mouse on the desired Lighting Device and choosing 'Edit Light' from the context menu. Then render with RenderWorks Final Quality Rendering to see the resulting light. Hint: be sure to uncheck the Draw beam and draw 3D beam geometry checkboxes-they interfere with the rendered light.

Access the Gobo feature from the Light Info tab of the 'Edit' context menu.

Access the Shutter feature from the Shutters tab of the 'Edit' context menu

Thank you guys! I don't understand why they can't make it easier.

One step you forgot, You have to use the Instrument insert tool, I tried, just dragging it off of the resource browser and it was just a 3D/2D object, took a while to figure that out.
