dimensions across VPs

I usually draw detailed sections of major walls from top to bottom in DL, without omissions.

It's less likelly for me to make mistakes this way.

However, this drawing is too big to fit in to one SLVP even scaled 1:5 or less. So naturally I make omissions and present just important parts of it. Here is the drawing.

I left my SLVP unupdated so that you can see how I'm using SLVPs.

This method works beautifully until I try to make dimensions across VPs. In this example I put my dimensions directly on SL, instead of annotation space of SLVPs which is more desirable.

Is there any better workarounds for this?

That's how I do it. You could dimension it in the design layer and move the text to the side so it will show in the viewport, which will increase accuracy (I hate entering dimension measurement manually, to much room for errors). The dimension line will not show between viewports though. Other than that I don't know of any other way.
