Nick09
Sorry if this seems simple but i am new to vectorworks. My school just started the class this year. How do i put a basement in? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
First, dig a big hole. Then build concrete walls around the edge. That ought to do it. Quote Link to comment

D Wood
Nick Welcome to the forums. As you can see, there are some very funny(?) people here. It is helpful if you put a signature on your posts, so we can see what system you are running. You incorporate a basement level by using Layers. You can leave the ground floor layer as Level 0 and give the basement floor a negative level or you can start with the basement floor at 0. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
If you plan on doing sections & elevations using the DTM, then set the Layer baseline elevation to the site 00 elevation. This will allow you to determine the correct floor elevations, and whether or not they are '+' or '-' values. Avoid negative values whenever possible to simplify cut&fill and sitework. For example, setting the 00 benchmark downslope of the lowest footing elevation. Quote Link to comment
