Russel
Hi, I have follwed all the settings in the manual (VW2008) and I can't get my custom gobo's or stock gobo's to project. I know the light works as it displays the colour I have chosen on to the set. Any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
Russel
looks like a typo in the manual! Manual says de-select Ray traced shadows and select shadow mapped shadows. If I reverse this setting Gobos appear! saying that I have just tried to update another drawing and they're still not working!!!! Edited August 20, 2008 by Russel Quote Link to comment
Russel
ok so I've just discovered the fact that you have to have the gobo projector in the same layer as the 3d object (bit of a pain really as it's nice tp put the lamps on their own layer) anyway have sorted that out but still no gobo projection! any suggestions Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted August 21, 2008 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 21, 2008 If you want to render mutiple layers you should create a Viewport. Are you using the Gobo Projector or the Lighting device to project the gobo? The Gobo projector is obsolete and the functionality is not part of the lighting device. Yes, you need to have ray traced shadows selected. If you are using the lighting device make sure it is set to have a fill. If the lighting device is set to no fill then the Gobo will not project. Make sure there is no geometry blocking the light. If you render in Final Quality Renderworks can you see the light? You have to render in FQRW (or custom) to see the Gobo. If you render in Fast Renderworks and see the light but don't see it in FQRW then there is probably something blocking the light. Are you using a symbol supplied by VW? Quote Link to comment
