ant
I am working on a project with a floor the has a slope of about 40? (see attached) and I can not figure out how to make this. It could be classed as a wall if need, but can not work out how to make a angled wall. please help. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Use a Roof Face object (AEC menu). Or you could extrude your 2D profile in the appropriate elevation view and then use solid add and / or subtract to finesse it. Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Antony, In Top/Plan view you could draw a 2D profile of the wall's cross-section and then draw a line for it's path. Select/highlight them both. Using the "Extrude Along Path Command" you would create a 3D object. Using other Solid addition/subtraction tools, you would then modify the wall start and end to properly terminate at the perpendicular walls. Finally, turn the custom retaining wall into a symbol and draw your desired 2D plan graphics in the 2D part of the symbol. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
I would probably use a Roof Face for this. Although Jeffrey's method will work, it seems a tad complicated for the task at hand. Quote Link to comment
ant
Thanks all for your help I think I will try the AEC roof face, but this does show up a hole in the VW tool set, I would like to see more control over the floor and wall tools in the future please ant Quote Link to comment
D Wood
Ant Welcome to the forums, and with regard to your last post, welcome to the club! Actually though, the roof tools are pretty good once you understand them, and there is also an improved Slab Object tool by Patrick Higgins, available from Vectordepot I think. You might also consider getting in touch with Jonathan Pickup in Napier and join his on-line user group - he is a mine of information and tips, worth every cent. Quote Link to comment
