Niall
I have installed Vectorworks 8.5.0 onto a newly formated Pentium 166 with 32MB memory. Installation is successful but I can't seem to get the workspace editor to open. I'd be grateful for any help. Regards Niall Quote Link to comment
MikeB
This is purely a guess but I'd say you don't have nearly enough ram to run windows, VW and the workspace editor all at once. I'd suggest a minimum of 128 MB with 256 being ideal. Good Luck Quote Link to comment
Niall
Thats what I suspected too Mike but we have a similar spec Cyrix 166 with 32MB ram running VW8.5.0 and is able to open the Workspace Editor. Regards Niall Mullan Quote Link to comment
MikeB
Have you looked at what is running in the background. Use the CTRL, ALT, DELETE combination to see all running apps. Closing some of these may free up some ram. Also PC usually manage your Virtural Memory on their own. If your hard drive is full there is no space for the VM to reside. The only other thing I can think of is vidio cards. If one machine has more ram on the card than the other this might explain the difference in performance. Good Luck Quote Link to comment
MTSLights
I'm running 8.5.2 on a pentium 75 with 24MB RAM with no problems. (except painful slowness) Quote Link to comment
