sketcher
suddenly I have "squares" that show up where the dimension line 'attaches' to the object. not a big problem, but a little distracting.. How do I get rid of them? Quote Link to comment
Charlie_P
These show that the dimension is "associated" to the object. If you change the object the dimension changes as well; the squares don't print, they're like stationary smartcursor cues. To turn them off... Goto File menu - Document Preferences - Dimensions tag Deselect "Associate Dimensions" HTH Charlie Quote Link to comment
sketcher
but I like the associative dimensions. Won't that make them NON associative? It just seems weird that they suddenly showed up?!? I can live with it, just didn't know why they decided to come to the party out of the blue ... HA Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Perhaps, v2008 has built-in Artificial Intelligence that monitors the way you work and compares it to a 'best practices' database. When VW-AI discovers that you are not using some essential functionality , the program reconfigures itself to improve your CAD performance. Or you just got lucky and bumped into the switch ; ) Quote Link to comment
ionw
I think there is a vectorworks preference something like show constraints or parametric constraints that you can uncheck, and they will disappear. Quote Link to comment
Charlie_P
Ion is right - Vectorworks menu - Preferences - Display tab Uncheck "Show parametric constraints" Quote Link to comment
sketcher
once again the brain trust that is this forum has come through!!! thanks all! Quote Link to comment
