g_arch
hi, i'm trying to model the elevation of a building. As I already extruded the shape itself, now I'd like to "cut out" windows in it, using the project trim tool. It works all right, but one window at a time. Is there a way to do that will all of them at once? (it doesn't work when they are grouped.) thx! Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
What do you mean by project trim tool? It would also be good to know your version of VectorWorks and computer specs including OS version. Creating a signature will include this info in every post you make. Quote Link to comment
g_arch
The Project tool, on the Project and Trim mode to be exact... Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
I see, I wasn't aware of this tool. If you are using 2d polygons, try selecting all of your cutting objects, then Modify menu>Add Suface and then run project and trim. Quote Link to comment
g_arch
I'm working in NURBS, so I can't Add the surfaces together. When I tried converting them to polygons they disappeared, any idea why? Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Not sure, How about posting an image to show what you are trying to do. Quote Link to comment
g_arch
I've already completed one facade and you can see the curves I'd like to project on the second facade... Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Why are you using all nurbs? Maybe you could recreate your cutouts as polygons. Quote Link to comment
g_arch
because you can see nurbs curve in 3d... that's before i knew you could extrude lines to 0 and achieve the same thing. i tried convert my nurbs curves to polys, but they disappear... ? Quote Link to comment
