Sections that can be manipulated like in ArchiCAD

When you have a sectional viewport say cutting through a beam, if i want to move that beam up 500mm I have to double click on the viewport and go to the design layer where the beam exists then find that beam in top/plan view under roofs etc and then move it using the "move 3D selection".

If you view it from left/right/front/back etc the beam is hidden by the walls.

From memory in ArchiCAD you can view something in section and still be able to edit the objects.

I second this. Extremely important. Live selections of all objects in all views (section, elevations, etc.)

Don't hold you breath guys. Yes, we all agree that the VW's system is not particularly intuitive. But that's the system. At least (IMO) for the foreseeable future.

NNA, Please note, those of us that use your software would like you to listen to us and our requirements, we invest in VW to improve and speed up our "Drawing Experience", therefore a sympathetic ear on your part might keep your customers, customers.

I'd love to eliminate (or at least limit) the amount of jumping between views required to perform some simple edits.

I strongly agree that direct editing of the model from a Viewport and especially a Section Viewport is an essential direction VectorWorks should take.

This feature alone would be enough to make VW2009 a hit from my perspective.

There's much to like about 3D in ArchiCAD. Shame about the ty Java-compromised user interface.

Let's hope NNA can pull something out of the bag.
