I'm a new user to vector works and to this news group.

I'm wondering if i can do more than one command at a time. for example; draw walls and zoom. If so how.

In this case, yes. You can zoom while drawing walls (or anything else) using the command-1 and command-2 (or control-1/2 on Windows) keyboard shortcuts. You can only use one tool at a time, though -- you can't draw walls and rectangles at the same time, for example.
