Problem Printing with Opacity

Question

So, I have been reading all the posts about print jobs freezing with pattern fills. I, too, have been having this issue...both with export to PDF and printing from my Epson. To add to my problems, not only am I needing to print a pattern fill, I need the opacity to be around 40%. I thought I found a work around when, instead of using a VW pattern, I just created an image that resembled the pattern I wanted, imported it as a image resource, and used it as an image fill repeated. Now the print job does go through, however the opacity of the object is somewhat ignored. It appears that the image does show it's opacity at 40%, but the repeating of the image throughout the rest of the object is not. I have attached a snapshot of my print preview. FYI, I get the same results when exporting to PDF.

Interesting. I have never used Hatches. It does look like the pattern I want; however, you set the opacity at 30%, but when I put something behind it I don't see any transparency value in the object. Are Hatches suppose to work with Opacity values?

I'm not understanding, I see the hatch with 30% opacity. Maybe you could explain more or post an image.

Here is what I mean. Unless I have some sort of setting wrong on Hatch Opacity. I just copied your rectangle and changed the hatch to pattern. Opacity is the same on both.

I don't know. It's not hatch opacity, it's object opacity with the hatch being part of the object. Do you have GDI+imaging checked in preferences.

Here's what I'm getting.
