sfatelier
I can only get the side surfaces of an object to accept textures. What am I doing wrong with the mapping? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
What version of VectorWorks? What OS version? What type of object? What rendering mode? Quote Link to comment
RonMan
The most common cause of this is that the polygon use for the extrude is not closed. Sometimes you can close it by hand and other can be closed by using the OIB. Please provide more information as indicated in Ray's post and I think we can help you Quote Link to comment

sfatelier
Vectorworks 2008, Mac OS. Thanks. It's an extruded object Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
RonMan is correct. Double click on the extrusion to edit the original polygon and make sure it is closed. Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
just a little tiny wish here on this one. I'd love to see a little warning on the completion of a polygon or polyline "the object you created is not a closed object." Maybe a little highlight on the screen where the gap is. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Grant I have become accustomed to always looking at the Closed checkbox on the OIP to make sure I have successfully closed a polygon or polyline. I do this because I have found that when you are working zoomed out and/or there is quite a lot of information in the vicinity it can be difficult to successfully close a polygon or polyline. It may be a case of retrospective rosy coloured glasses but it seems to me that snapping and the smart cursor cues worked better in the Minicad days. Quote Link to comment
sfatelier
What is odd is that I used a rectangle command and then extruded it. It only renders the sides, not all around so I"m sure it's a closed object. If it didn't render at all, I think then, the object wouldn't be closed. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Why don't you post the file here so we can look at it. Quote Link to comment
