lineweight
Hi, Is there a way to do a Plan Section Cut, say at 4 feet, 8 feet and the 12 feet in a model? Thanks! Mike Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Kind of. Create a standard viewport and set it to show an elevation view. Then use the Section Viewport tool to cut a horizontal section of the elevation view. The Kind Of refers to the fact that you will get the 3D aspect of all the objects, not the Top/Plan view 2D representation. Pat Quote Link to comment
lineweight
Fantastic. Thanks. I was trying that from just viewing the elevation, to no success. I'll give this way a shot!! Quote Link to comment

zoomer
Or by using the Clip Cube (?) Snap the upper face of the clip cube to a finish floor, Move that face again to the correct distance from floor hight, create section from clip cube .... Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
Has the Clip Cube been fixed? Last time I checked the Clip Cube was only good for one Viewport. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
you can use the clip cube to create section viewports. Set the cube that you require, right click on the face of the clip cube and choose Create Section Viewport. This works on all sides of the clip cube. When you have created the first section, edit the clip cube to make the second section. Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
This is good news & how it's supposed to work! The Clip Cube was not working like this in April at the Chicago Design Summit BTW it would only "hold" one Viewport at a time. Quote Link to comment
zoomer
You create a real section viewport. The Clip Cube is just the temporary Tool to set the Section. Quote Link to comment
Jim Smith
Right, but the bug was the other Viewports would default to the newest "View" of the Clip Cube. I don't use it much, but may use it more now the bug is gone. Quote Link to comment
