CS1
I find the search option on this website to be of no use. I have tried on many occasions when searching for information on various topics to type in as accurate as possible all the search words approriate. But I get pages and pages of results and when viewing the contents they are about topics that dont seem to be related to my key words at all. Does anybody else agree? Quote Link to comment
0 doughd
Yes I agree. But I read somewhere that putting an astrick (star above the 8 on a PC) in btwn the words will bring results containing both of the words. Is this correct? AND, I think it would be helpful if the topics that we have already visited should be turned a different color (i.e. purple, as in other programs and websites), so that it's easier to reference back if we need to. 0 brudgers
I use this google http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADBF&q=site%3Atechboard.nemetschek.net+ Just type your search terms after the default text. The search box is a complete waste...and advanced search defaults to only the previous week...and doesn't allow boolean operations...in general it's pretty much useless. Quote Link to comment
0 billtheia
CS1, you need to use the plus sign (+) to find posts that include all the terms you're looking for. If I have a question about window trim, I enter +window +trim in the search window. This gives me results that include BOTH terms. If I omit the plus signs, I get results that include EITHER term. See the advanced search tips: http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=searchtips Quote Link to comment
