rkraybill
I inherited an AutoCAD file that includes hundreds of text objects that are each duplicated in place. In other words - each text object that you see in the file has a duplicate behind it in the same location. Is there a script that weeds out duplicate objects (given they have the same parameters: location, size, type, etc.)? The source of the file is not willing to fix it and resend to me - it would be a big help if someone has an idea. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
cbaarch
leave them alone and only when you need to modify a text object would you then delete the duplicate. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Optimise Drawing from Vectorbits (30 Euros) will delete duplicated text objects: http://vectorbits.com/VectorBits/vectorbits/vectorbits.html Note: The process will delete duplicate objects of all types in the file at the same time (there is no way of getting it to discriminate by object type) and cannot be undone. rkraybill
Vectorbits was the solution - worked great for eliminating a problem that would have taken me several hours to handle otherwise. Thanks for the advice. Quote Link to comment
