Illustrator to VW Question

Hi All,

Im having a problem with getting .ai files into VW properly. (I think)

Currently, I export the .ai file (CS3) to a .dwg, then import the .dwg in VW. The main problem is when I bring in a logo that has a "P" "R" "O" "A" any leter that has a "hole" in it, it comes in as a solid letter. No "hole." I have to make the hole and do a subtract solids. Is this the right way to do this? Or is there an easier way?

When I have text in CS3 example white tex. I make the background transparent then change the color of the text to 1% black. I save it as a PNG, then import it to VW as PNG my file sizes stay small and I do not have a problem with subtracting the holes. EPS will import also the same way if the larger file size is ok.

Sorry for the time it took to respond. I will try this out. BTW, can these files be extruded? The PNG & EPS?
