wamarchitects
We've recently installed VW11 onto a new macbook, but various things are not working properly: There are no selection handles on any lines (the blue dots), have searched high and low for an answer but no luck! Also, any line drawn automatically has an arrow end on it, despite this not being part of the layer properties, and the little boxes on the line info box being unchecked. Hope someone can solve these relatively simple questions, Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Gerrit
A new MacBook as in "Leopard installed" ? If so, you'll need at least version 12.5.3. Quote Link to comment
wamarchitects
it looks like it's version OS X 10.5...don't know how I tell if it's leopard or not but I think not (if that's the very new operating system)...it's not actually mine so I'm guessing! It's because our boss won't buy a full new license for the laptop so we're using some sort of a 'free'/?! version (maybe it has multiple licenses, I don't fully know). It all seems to work fine on his (admittedly older) macbook though. Any other thoughts? Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
VectorWorks 11 will not run on that computer. The oldest version that runs on Apple's new OS (Leopard 10.5) is 12.5.3 Quote Link to comment
Gerrit
Lucy, Click on the Apple in the top left of the screen, and pick "About this Mac". The next window will tell you (among other things) the version of the OSX running on your macbook. If it says 10.5, see my answer and Ray's supporting me ;-) Quote Link to comment
wamarchitects
thanks guys, looks like we're going to have to invest in some new software then! we were going to upgrade some of the computers later in the year anyway, but is there anything else we should be wary of? most of us are using 12.0.0 at the moment, so I guess this means we have to upgrade again to 2008...what a pain! Ray Libby
Update 12.0.0 to 12.5.3 (it's a free update) and it will run on Leopard. How is this a pain? VW2008 has some great new features... Quote Link to comment
wamarchitects
- didn't know it was free, so you're right it's not so much of a pain - but we will still have to buy new versions for the other machines in the office....I just wish it all happened automatically! (also I didn't realise that 12.5.3 was the same thing as VW 2008 - why have different names... just to confuse us poor non-techies I suppose! well I know now, & thank you!) Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Sorry, maybe I was confusing, 2008 is not the same as 12.5.3. My point is to update to 12.5.3 for more stability some added features and it will run on Leopard. Quote Link to comment
