Kimcz
VW 11.5 suddenly crashed, and then all file names were changed to the old 8 letter max system. After rebooting several times, it will not change back. Is there a switch somewhere in the options/preferences, or must I reinstall, which will be a bind as I have customised my workspace? Has anybody had the same experience? Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Normally, the FileNameLength is handled by the OS. Windows has a property option to use the old 8 character DOS filenaming conventions. The FileNameLength is linked to the Type/Creator declaration via OS Properties. Try checking your OS FileName Preference Settings for Vectorworks file type "DO11", creator "CDP3" . Quote Link to comment

luisc
same thing happened after a VW crash the other day, on PC and XP using VW 11.5, any luck in solving this problem? Kimcz and Clay what platform are you on? I assume that islandmon is on Macs, given that file type "D011" and creator "CDP3" are Mac way of identifing a VW files Quote Link to comment
luisc
I found the problem, its the latest version of Quicktime 7.4.1, I unistalled it and installed an earlier version of Quicktime and VW 11.5 shows the file names the correct way. Quote Link to comment
