Mato1972
I'm having trouble with the scale of the imported DWG file. Can anyone tell me the step process to bring a file in at the correct scale? Quote Link to comment
0 mike m oz
You will usually find it is out by a factor of 25.4 (the no. of mm in an inch) because the Autocad underlying units are in inches. Use the Custom Import option and set the Unit settings to custom: 1 DXF unit = 1 mm. Quote Link to comment
0 Pat Stanford
Often it is easier to fix it after the import Import the file FInd an object with a know size ("Known") and dimension it to determine the size in the drawing ("Measured"). Go the the MOdify Menu and select Scale Objects. Make sure the Entire Document and Scale Text buttons are selected In the X,Y,Z Factor box enter the Known divided "/" by the Measured. Make sure that both are in the same units and don't use unit marks. If you are in feet and inches you will need to convert both to either decimal feet or decimal inches. Click OK. If the Measured in not absolutely correct it may be do to a rounding error. You can just repeat the process until you get it right. On a scanned image, you may need to measure and use different scale factors for both the horizontal and vertical scales. Pat Quote Link to comment
