Don@Black Dog
Hi. At risk of retreading old ground: I have a viewport of a camera view. I would like to use the Sketch rendering, but it returns it to a wireframe (with sketchy lines, albiet), and will not do it to a hidden line view. Any methods? Thanks. A sketch-style wireframe is useless. Edited February 20, 2008 by blackdogarch Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Have you tried to set your Background Render to Hidden Line and then click the button labeled Background Render Options...? Make sure you have the Sketch Hidden LIne Results box checked. Pat Quote Link to comment
Don@Black Dog
Cool. Did not know that existed. What is the differnece between back and foreground vi a vis the rendering? Also, can that be done in the design layer when just doing a flyover?? It is nice to turn the plan around with the client and a sketchiness is a bit more pleasant and less "done". Pat Stanford
I doubt you will be happy with using sketched hidden line for a flyover. The model will not be retained and it will have to re-render every time you release the mouse button. Foreground and Background rendering were added to replace an older technique of stacking viewports. You can set the backgroup render to OpenGL or Fast RenderWorks or artistic renderworks and the Foreground to Hidden Line (with or without sketch), This will give you an image with color, but well defined edges. If you are only using one rendering mode it does not matter which you pick, except only the line render options are available for the foreground. I don't know of a way to get the sketch on a design layer in anything other than wireframe or hidden line. Pat Quote Link to comment
alantaylorking
Hi was reading your thread and was wandering how you do that. cant seem to find any hidden line option in the background render button Alan Quote Link to comment
Guest
When you choose Hidden Line Rendering as the Background Render style, click on the Render Options button right below and checkmark "Sketch Hidden Line Rendering", then choose your Sketch Style. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
On the Mac, the button is labeled Background Render Settings... and it is only selectable after you have chosen a Background Render mode. Pat Quote Link to comment

Pat Stanford
Are you running VW2008? This was added in 2008. In VW12, the work around is to use stacked viewports. I explained that technique a couple of days ago. Search for my post if you are interested. Pat Quote Link to comment
