Worksheet that displays Design Layer Name

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to create a worksheet that the displays the name of the Design Layer or Sheet Layer that it is located on.

No simple way I can think of.

You might be able to give the WS a name (Top cell of the data pane), then create a database region that is for that Named object only. The formula to display the layer would '=L'. The problem would be editing the database criteria for the name of each WS to the name of each one. Every name has to be unique.

It would probably be easier to write a script that would get each WS and determine the layer it is on and write that into a cell. But this would not be dynamic. You would have to rerun the script when the WS is moved to a different layer.
