Just installed OS 10.5 'Leopard' and cant open VW 11.5

Edward M. Baum

Question

Installed Leopard and am having problems getting VW 11.5 to open. I've downloaded and installed Aladdin's HASP upgrade to Leopard, but I still get the message "You can't open the application VectorWorks 11.5 because the Classic environment is no longer supported." I was running VW 11.5 under OS 10.4.9, not Classic.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Jonathan and Ray are correct that it takes at lest 12.5.3 to run in Leopard. There are quite bad incompatibilities.

As to why it is asking to open in Classic, select the application and do a Get Info on it. Under Tiger, there is a check box that says something like "Open in Classic Environment". I don't know if that still exists in Leopard or not, but if it does, make sure that you uncheck that to get it to open directly.

If you are running an Intel Mac, you might also need to check a box labeled something like "Open under Rosetta" to make it run as a PowerPC app on the Intel chip.
