In the Object Info dialog one shows "Simple Window in Wall" the other shows "Simple Window". The Simple Window acts like a real window i.e. I can see through it. The "Simple Window in Wall", in 3D view is solid. I made them the same way, I took them out of the wall and they both read "Simple Window" in the dialog, but once I put them back in their respective walls, they reverted to their old titles and functions.
