Mark
I've just extruded a complicated eve/overhang trim detail. How do I "miter" (cut at a 45 degree angle) it to continue around the corners of the house? Thanks Mark Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Mark, In VectorWorks you could go to top view, draw a square with sides longer than the length of the miter, extrude the square longer then the height of the trim detail, rotate the square extrusion 45 degrees (or the correct miter angle), orient it over the end of the trim detail, switch to front view and orient the height over the trim detail's end, then use the subtract solids command to "cut" away the mitered end of the trim detail. I draw a lot of complex moldings and I do them using Julian Carr's add on program called 3D Manager. It's not a perfect solution, but it will do something that VectorWorks can't: That is, extrude a complex profile along non-straight path. Quote Link to comment
