michael john williams
Finally we have set up our custom border / titleblock. It took a long time and hope it will be worth the effort and want it to work with Issue Manager, but we are having a minor problem. We click on Drawing Border, which is locked to page centre, then click on Title Block to add the TB. Import TB comes up and we select our custom TB from Top level Drawing Border Components. We change the Scale Factor from .68 to 1 to make it the full A3 height. Everything is ok except the TB does not sit within the A3 landscape drawing border and to the R/H side. We play around with TB Position but this still does not put it within the border and the right position. What are we doing wrong? Where are the settings to correctly position the TB? Perhaps the TB has the wrong co ordinates but how do you change that? Help appreciated. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Have you tried changing the location of the title block within the symbol definition? The lower right corner of the title block should be at 0, 0. If the title block does not fit within the border correctly, then try editing the symbol itself and reposition the title block so it fits in the border correctly. Tom Urie Nemetschek, N.A. michael john williams
That sorted that out - thanks! Made the revisions in the TB symbol and that changed the TB position to bottom right. But when we want to use the titleblock only and click that tab in the object info of the drawing border the tb moves back to the centre of the page with 0,0 co ordinates!? But that's not a problem and we can live with that. Howerevr the text in the TB is different to the text within the TB drawing border. If that makes sense. For instance, for our company name / logo part of the name part is in advant garde extra light and part in advant garde bt bk, which is fine in the symbol but when the symbol is used as the TB to the border the font changes!!?? Guest
When you want title block text to retain its font attributes do this: Edit the symbol, select the text and set the Pen Style (on the Attributes palette) to Solid. This will solve your problem. If you want the text to have the same attributes as that of the drawing border, the Pen Style should be set to Class Style Tom Urie Nemetschek, N.A. I found that if text fields are in a group inside the TB symbol, the text formatting looks fine in the symbol itself but acts very weird when the TB is applied to a sheet. (i.e. saw doubles, lost bold formatting, etc). In other words, make sure nothing is grouped in the TB symbol itself. Quote Link to comment
