Bruce Kieffer
I think most of you know my love/hate relationship with the VW grid. I use it all the time, and it drives me crazy. I feel like I have four grids to deal with. Start in top/plan, set the grid, align an object to the grid, extrude that object, switch to front view, and the object is off the grid. Align it to the grid in front view, switch to right view, and it's off the grid. Align it to the grid in right view, switch to top/plan, and it's off the grid. Go to edit the extrusion, and the original 2D shape is off the grid. Now, I've found work arounds to help the situation, but darn it, I think the grid should align in all views. That sure would make my life easier. It's not like I'm drawing weirdly dimensioned objects. I'm working with an 1/8" symmetrical grid, and drawing objects with no less than 1/8" increments. I'm open to listening if I'm doing something wrong with my grid setup. I can't be the only one out here who takes on the grid on a daily basis. Sometimes it wins! Quote Link to comment
