Roman
I installed SP1 and I'm still getting walls at 90.3 degrees or -179.1 Every time I adjust a wall it gets angled. How do I get rid of this program? Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Roman. I don't get that problem. Check to make sure you don't have your Constrain Angles / Alternate Coordinate System set to 0.3 degrees. Ditto for the Grid Rotation. Quote Link to comment
gScott
have you got grid lock ON? Quote Link to comment
Roman
Yes, grid lock is on. I don't get it and it's killing my drafting time. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Do you have the Constrain Angle constraint switched on and are you holding the Shift key down when you draw the walls to constrain them to the constraint angles. This type of problem is why there is a need for a constrained wall drawing mode. It is far too easy to end up with walls that aren't quite at the required angle. There is also a need to increase the number of optional preset constraint angles so that there are 15? increments - (ie. checkmark options for 15?, 30?, 45?, 60? and 75?). digitalcarbon
the attached image shows a wall that i stretched from 35 feet to the size you see. i held down the shift key when doing so and it is not straight. i did this 4 times. this is not the first time. Quote Link to comment
VectorGeek
This is a bug in VW2008 I believe. There have been a number of reports on the mailing list as well. When you stretch a wall, even though the shift key is depressed, it can go off its angle by some (typically) minor amount. Frustrating. Hope it's addressed in the next SP..... digitalcarbon
seems only to do it in horizontal. vertical seems ok. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
The incorrect angle stretch problem only occurs if you press the Shift key after you have started stretching. Press the Shift key before you start stretching and the wall will stretch correctly. This is digressing from Roman's problem as he has stated it - or has he not been clear enough in stating what his problem is? Quote Link to comment
jgmrussell
I'm getting the same problem also. It happens to me when I'm inputing lengths in floating palette and dragging wall to spot. It was leaving a jagged wall and when I checked info in palette it was showing an angle other than 90 etc. It never happened in other versions so I'm assuming it's a bug. Quote Link to comment
Guest
This is something we are working on addressing for SP 2. Quote Link to comment
VectorGeek
The incorrect angle stretch problem only occurs if you press the Shift key after you have started stretching. Press the Shift key before you start stretching and the wall will stretch correctly. Not true Mike. The problem happens in both cases, and is reproducable for us on a regular basis. Katie - you mentioned this bug would be addressed for SP2, yet that hasn't happened. What can you tell us? V-G. Quote Link to comment
RGyori
I have tried duplicating this problem without success (Hmm... that is success I guess). With or without grid restraint invoked, drawing 2D lines, walls, linear material tool, etc. with the shift key pressed keeps the wall/lines/etc. strictly along the x and y axes. Both while first drawing them and while subsequently editing. Perhaps more information is needed regarding settings used by those with the problem? I just started with my VW2008 upgrade so I frankly haven't used it for production work yet. That's my story and I'm staying with it. Bob Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
VetorGeek - I'm not seeing that occur with SP2. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Andrew Bell@NV Posted January 15, 2008 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 15, 2008 The bug is still in SP2 (build 82099, unless I'm much mistaken), but should be fixed soon for VW2008. Quote Link to comment
RGyori
Andrew, I have 2008 (SP2) build 82613 and, as stated in my earlier post have not experienced the problem. Different builds for Mac and PC? Bob Quote Link to comment
VectorGeek
All seems to be well in build 82613. Thanks NNA! V-G. (and all the little geeks) Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Andrew Bell@NV Posted January 16, 2008 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 16, 2008 A coworker of mine said that SP2 was 82099. If it's 82613, it should have a fix for that problem then. (Note, however, that *that* fix causes a problem with stretching walls in Rotated Plan views. We have a fix for the bug caused by the fix, but it's not released yet AFAIK.) Even us NNAers are running into confusion with these version name changes... Quote Link to comment
