"RenderWorks required"

Recommended Posts

We've got someone working on a file which keeps telling her that "Renderworks is required". In one instance she was changing layers and in another she was hitting command-g to group something.

When the message comes it pops up four times and you have to click okay each time before it goes away until next time.

The file is made up of some simple bathroom elevations (lines and polygons) and Design Layer Viewports or a referenced file (layers imported).

Has anyone else run into this?

Does her machine not have RenderWorks?

It sounds like she does not have RenderWorks and the file has been saved with a a rendering set to RenderWorks. When she's trying to do something, since the file is saved with the rendering, she's being prompted with the message because she doesn't have RenderWorks.

She can fix this by pressing esc and going to View > Rendering > Wireframe.

It's not a bad idea to save files as wireframe rather than rendering. It helps save time when launching.

In addition, if you want to save a rendering, use the cached viewports option and set a viewport to some rendering mode. That way, you don't run into the situation as you do with her, and others don't have to mess with canceling a rendering when trying to open a file.

Sketch is a design series feature, not RenderWorks.

There's something in the file that is either rendered (you may need to check all the layers - at least the layer that she's trying to switch to) or using another RenderWorks feature.
