Daryl Wood
Identifying a design layer an object resides on is difficult unless the design layer happens to be active. Is there any way to ID an object's design layer without activating each and every design layer and then trying to select the object? Thanks Quote Link to comment
boxjoint
Try "Activate Layer" or "Force Select" from the contextual menu. Quote Link to comment

islandmon
Is there any way to ID an object's design layer without activating each and every design layer and then trying to select the object? This is in fact a fundamental question ... considering that everything is an object and every object has an ID stored within the VW database. It's also a chick & egg issue ... how do i find the location of an object without knowing the exact ID# of that object first. VW provides various Object tagging schemes to assist with object location ... these include Layer,Class,Group,Symbol,Name,Record,Type,Attribute..etc. The Organize menu provides a convenient GUI... but even then ... nothing beats the human brain for sorting out the confusion from the chaos ; ) Quote Link to comment
